CAA Approved Training (OLD)

In the UK legislation requires companies that train shippers, packers or operator acceptance staff to be approved by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and also for the instructors to be approved.

Both of DGO Ltd’s instructors, Geoff Leach and Ross McLachlan, and the company itself are approved by the CAA.  The approved courses include:

  • Shipper and packer courses for general dangerous goods (Categories 1 and 2)
  • Shipper and packer courses for lithium batteries (Categories 1 and 2)
  • Acceptance of dangerous goods courses for general dangerous goods (Category 6)

In addition, DGO Ltd has developed bespoke courses aimed at individual companies specialising in particular products, such as:

  • Perfumes
  • Aerosols
  • Aircraft parts
  • Lithium batteries

We believe bespoke courses are far more appropriate for many shippers than general dangerous goods courses, because they focus on the actual products being prepared and shipped; a general course can only give general training in how to ship dangerous goods and is unlikely to cover the specifics of how particular types of dangerous goods must be prepared and shipped.
